CENTER CITY DISTRICT ANNOUNCES FULL LINE-UP OF FALL PARK EVENTS
Games, concerts, celebrations, local market and pumpkins to fill the parks with fun
PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 24, 2017) — As the weather cools down in Philadelphia, the fun heats up at CCD Parks. Center City District has plenty in store to celebrate autumn in the city.
GAME ON!
Wednesdays, September 6 – 27, 12 – 2 p.m.
Checkmate! Grab a friend or two for some classic board game fun in the park! Enjoy live music during Live@Lunch while playing games. Games available include old favorites, such as Jenga, Chess, Sorry!, Life, Uno and more. Grab the gang and take a break over lunch to unwind and play in the park.
LIVE@LUNCH
Wednesdays, September 6 – October 11, Noon – 1:30 p.m.
The popular lunchtime concert series, PNC Presents Live@Lunch returns to Dilworth Park as part of a series of free events produced by the Center City District. After taking a break in August, live music returns for seven weeks in September and October. Philadelphia’s center stage shines with a showcase of local singer-songwriters performing familiar tunes, along with their own original scores on Wednesdays from Noon to 1:30 p.m.

Celebrate the centennial of Philadelphia’s grand cultural axis, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. CCD Parks, along with the cultural and educational institutions, businesses and residences along the Parkway will present more than 100 family-friendly activities! Kick off the evening at CCD parks with musical performances.
Sister Cities Park - 18th and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Gather on the grassy knoll of Sister Cities Park, located midway through the Parkway to enjoy the musical musings of singer-songwriter Matt Santry.
Cret Park - 16th and Benjamin Franklin Parkway
4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Not just for coffee anymore, stop by the Capriccio Café & Bar at Cret Park for happy hour specials that feature local Philadelphia ingredients. Stay for the sounds of soul music by Ginger Coyle.
Dilworth Park - 1 South 15th St (West Side of City Hall)
5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
At the center of the city and the launching point of the parkway at City Hall, enjoy happy hour at Dilworth Park Café with appetizer and drink specials brought to you by Makers 46 and Bud Light. Live DJ music provided by DJ Craig Dash. Just for this occasion, try a Clover Club Cocktail, named after the men’s club, The Clover Club of Philadelphia, which met in the Bellevue–Stratford hotel, is a combination of gin, lemon juice and raspberry syrup, and was quite en vogue in the early 1900s.

NEIGHBORHOOD ARTS CELEBRATION

Join the neighborhood arts celebration, supported by PNC, Wednesday, September 20, noon – 3 p.m., and again at 5 – 7 p.m. Celebrate the third anniversary of Dilworth Park with special performances by arts groups from across Philadelphia. Groups from the city’s neighborhoods will come together at Dilworth Park at City Hall to showcase their talents. From 5 – 7 p.m., celebrate after work with cocktails and cold beers, a special happy hour outside at the Dilworth Park Café and Air Grille.

OCTOBERFEST
Wednesday, October 11 to Sunday, October 15
Autumn sweeps into Dilworth Park with this annual five-day festival celebrating all the best of fall. Live music, games, entertainment, a pumpkin patch, fall decor and a beer garden will fill Dilworth Park. New this year, the Made in Philadelphia Fall Market brings together regional vendors for a chance to shop the best handmade and local the city has to offer all in one place. The market showcases local crafters selling art, photos, accessories and jewelry, skincare, glassware, wood craft and more.
For fun during the festival, test your arm strength in the Stein Holding Contest, and stick around for a Makers Mark and Makers 46 Tasting and Gourmet Mustard Pairing.
Brûlée Catering will feature traditional fare and offer German and Philly-inspired specialties, such as Currywurst, Sauerbraten Cheesesteak, South Philly Schnitzel, Germantown Potato dumplings, and Festival Fries. In the evenings, the Air Grille will offer a variety of grilled delicacies, including beef ribs with mustard sauce, pulled pork with Black Forest BBQ sauce, Smoked Turkey Legs with a Cider Glaze, and a changing grill plate. Thirsty from all the great flavors, quench the thirst, with Bud Light, and Victory Ale on tap. Effen Vodka, Makers 46 and Makers Mark will be shaken into special seasonal cocktails to compliment the flavors of the festival. Try a Blood Orange Effen, cranberry and ginger beer cocktail on tap, or sip on a Makers, cider and ginger beer mule.
