Safe Summer Programming has Returned to CCD Parks

Dilworth Park & Sister Cities Park offering live music, fitness classes and more!

PHILADELPHIA (July 8, 2020): Center City District (CCD) summer programming returns this week to Dilworth Park and Sister Cities Park, featuring smaller-scale, lower-key events for guests of all ages – all in accord with CDC, State and City guidelines and requirements. From socially-distanced fitness classes to music and programs designed for children, residents and visitors alike – everyone can find something to enjoy while strolling through the parks. As always, the events are free and open to all. This season’s lineup includes:

Dilworth Park

Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics
Mondays & Tuesdays
July 13 through October 12 | 6 p.m.

Get ready to get movin’ with free fitness classes presented by the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. Professional trainers from Optimal Sport will lead socially-distanced activities, including Zumba® on Monday nights and Boot Camp on Tuesdays. All classes will be limited to just 50 people, available on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive early to fill out a waiver, which can be accessed via a personal smartphone. Tablets will be available if a smartphone is inaccessible. There will be no bag check. 

PNC presents Live @ Lunch
Wednesdays & Thursdays
Through August 27 | Noon-1 p.m.

A diverse lineup of local musicians will host lunchtime concerts in the PNC Terrace every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Curated in partnership with Little Giant Creative, all musicians will remind audiences to socially distance and will feature styles ranging from jazzy crooners to R&B boppers and everything in between. The schedule of performers will be announced at the beginning of each week and will be promoted on the Dilworth Park social media channels. This program is presented by PNC Bank and supported by Live Nation.

Additional entertainment will pop up sporadically throughout the summer.

Sister Cities Park

All programs at Sister Cities Park will be held on the Center Lawn with plenty of space for social distancing. Adults and children over the age of 2 will be asked to wear a mask. Hand sanitizer will be available for guests during all events.

Parkway Pals: Grow up Green with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation

Grow up Green encourages kids to get out and explore the world around them. This Philadelphia Parks & Recreation program will feature unique activities and imaginative adventures for young children.

Parkway Pals: Music Program

Guests young and old are invited to relax on the lawn as local singer-songwriters perform. The schedule of all Sister Cities Park programs will be announced at the beginning of each week and will be promoted on the Sister Cities Park social media channels.

CCD and the parks’ café operators have implemented increased health safety procedures throughout the parks and visitors will be reminded to adhere to all CDC guidelines. CCD staff are all wearing masks and are cleaning surfaces frequently. Anyone who feels sick, or has come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, should refrain from entering the parks.
