FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ice skating, Wintergarden and cold-weather fun through February 2026

PHILADELPHIA (October 28, 2025) — Center City District (CCD) announces plans for Dilworth Park’s winter transformation, beginning Friday, November 14, with the return of the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Cabin, the Wintergarden and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market.

Positioned beside historic City Hall, Dilworth Park is one of Philadelphia’s most popular holiday destinations. Between November 2024 and February 2025, the park attracted more than 3.7 million visitors, reaffirming its role as a central gathering place and a cherished seasonal tradition for residents and visitors alike.

This year, CCD is excited to announce a new partnership with Centre Square Hospitality, powered by Aramark Sports + Entertainment, at the reimagined Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin. The redesigned space has expanded significantly to add a full bar, banquet seating and sleek décor—including TVs for game days. An elevated new menu will include comforting winter dishes like tomato soup and grilled cheese, jumbo pretzel charcuterie and chicken & waffle nachos. The bar will feature craft cocktails made with Basil Hayden® bourbon, as well as beer, wine and ready-to-drink -196 Vodka Seltzer canned cocktails. Outside on the terrace, fire pits will be available at no charge. Private rental packages are available; contact rentals@centercityphila.org for more information.

Next to the cabin is the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink, open daily with $7 admission for children 10 and younger, $10 admission for adults and skate rental for $10 per person. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more. Tickets for timed, 90-minute skate sessions and locker rentals are available now at centercityphila.org/rink.

For the first time at Dilworth Park, CCD will host two Breakfast with Santa events on Saturdays, December 13 and 20. Families can enjoy a full buffet breakfast and a meet-and-greet before hitting the ice with Santa himself. These events will be ticketed, and reservations are required. Hours and special events are listed below and at dilworthpark.org.

The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Cabin will be open daily through February 22.

At the southern end of the park, the Wintergarden on the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn has been reimagined as an open-air oasis featuring hundreds of twinkling and colored lights, illuminated overhead sculptures and seasonal foliage. A Chaddsford Winery kiosk within the space will sell warm mulled wine to guests 21 and over. The Wintergarden will remain open through March 15.

The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, open daily through January 1, will showcase dozens of local vendors from the Philadelphia region. Visitors can expect everything from home goods and jewelry to skincare, artwork, and artisan treats.

“Each year when the rink reopens, we’re reminded just how special this tradition is, not only for our community, but also as a tribute to our late founder, Dr. Richard H. Rothman,” said Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, MBA, President of Rothman Orthopaedics, Richard H. Rothman Professor and Chairman, and Professor of Neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals. “At Rothman Orthopaedics, we believe strongly in keeping our community active and mobile, and the rink is a perfect example of that mission in action. It brings people of all ages together to enjoy the outdoors, stay healthy, and create lasting memories. We’re proud to continue supporting this beloved Philadelphia tradition and look forward to another season at the Rothman Rink and Cabin.”
