PHILADELPHIA (January 11, 2024): Experience the best of winter on Saturday, January 20 as the annual Dilworth Park Ice Festival supported by Verizon returns with fun for all ages. Starting at 3 p.m., experience professional ice dancers, strolling circus arts, dueling ice carving, and activities for children of all ages.
Throughout the afternoon, watch as artists from Ice Sculpture Philly construct a full-size, fully functional baby grand piano made entirely from ice. At 6 p.m., a pianist from the Marian Anderson Historical Society will perform on the ice piano live in the Wintergarden.
Follow the snowflake path leading to the Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin to relax and warm up with hearty seasonal dishes, including grilled cheese and tomato soup, hot honey glazed wings and jalapeno poppers. At the bar, adults 21 and older will find tasty cocktails made with Hornitos® Tequila and Haku® Vodka, plus local and craft beers, including Kona Big Wave and Michelob Ultra. Outside on the TD Bank Terrace, toasty fire pits are available to enjoy at no charge.
The Ice Festival supported by Verizon is free to attend, but tickets to the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink are required to ice skate throughout the day. At 3:30 p.m., skaters will be joined by Ice Princesses who will skate with families. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time at rothmanrink.ticketsocket.com.
The full Ice Festival supported by Verizon schedule includes:
3 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Snowman craft for kids in the Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin
3:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.: Youth figure skating performance with the Colonial Skating Club of PA
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Ice skating with Ice Princesses
4 p.m.– 4:30 p.m.: Dueling ice carving by the Wintergarden
5 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Strolling circus arts, including stilt walkers and a hula hoop performer
5:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: Ice dance performance with the Colonial Skating Club of PA
6 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Ice piano performance with the Marian Anderson Historical Society
In addition to the schedule of events, guests will find intricate ice sculptures on display throughout the park, including three mini golf holes made entirely of ice, as well as a massive inflatable igloo. Representatives from Verizon will be onsite with giveaways and information.
The winter season at Dilworth Park is produced by Center City District with investments from the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Temple University and 6abc. The Ice Festival is sponsored by Verizon.
