Center City District’s popular street closure program returns one last time in 2026 for a special holiday edition. Eight city blocks are transformed into a car-free extension of public space for pedestrians. Visitors can find something for everyone on their list while browsing dozens of national and local brands, all within walking distance to Center City Philadelphia’s beloved seasonal traditions. While shopping and strolling, festive ambient entertainment will be provided, including a visit from Santa Claus, holiday carolers, a live ice piano performance, and more.
Cross streets remain open to cars at intersections including 15th, 16th, 17th, and 19th streets and the 1700 and 1800 blocks of Sansom Street. Open Streets: West Walnut is presented by Fulton Bank and produced with support from Rittenhouse Row and the City of Philadelphia.
