Center City's latest outdoor attraction will host roller skating at Dilworth Park beginning Friday, April 30 through Sunday, June 27. The rink will follow City, State, and CDC COVID-19 guidelines, including mask requirements, a reduced capacity and enhanced cleaning protocols.

Philadelphia’s largest employment center and fastest growing residential section is showing unprecedented signs of growth and new investment, according to the newly released State of Center City, 2016, produced by the Center City District (CCD) and Central Philadelphia Development Corporation (CPDC).

The Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink opens for the season at Dilworth Park on Friday, April 22 through Sunday, July 17. The colorful, retro-inspired rink will bring old-school cool to the space outside of historic City Hall with hour-long sessions available seven days a week.

Welcoming more than 60,000 skaters last season, the Rothman Institute Ice Rink at Dilworth Park will open Friday, November 10, 2017, with a salute to veterans.

The Center City District is the location for almost 1,500 businesses from one-of-a-kind owner-proprietors and unique restaurants to regional and national chains. On three consecutive Saturdays, September 17, September 24 and October 1, CCD is promoting Shop Center City Saturdays, an annual campaign that highlights the unique shopping experiences offered throughout the district’s many retail corridors.

Foot traffic in the core of Center City rises through late 2022 and into 2023

On September 29, 2020, CPDC hosted a virtual membership meeting to discuss the findings and challenges outlined in the recent CCD/CPDC report, Getting More Philadelphians Back to Work: Business Density and the Role of Black and Minority Owned Businesses.

The CCD’s plan and budget for 2023-2027 shows the continued primary focus on the basics, devoting more than threequarters of assessment revenues to programs for a clean, safe, attractive and well-managed public environment.

CCD and Optimal Sport have also teamed up to host a virtual version of our Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics for participants of all skill levels.

Center City District summer programming returns this week to Dilworth Park and Sister Cities Park, featuring smaller-scale, lower-key events for guests of all ages.
