The winter installment of Center City District Restaurant Week (CCDRW) wrapped up this past Sunday, with over 90 local eateries participating in the bi-annual dining deal. Celebrations, however, are just beginning as the program looks forward to welcoming a landmark occasion this fall. In September of 2023, CCDRW will return to commemorate its 20th anniversary.

Play Day at Sister Cities Park has replaced Storybook Weekend as the official kick-off celebration of the upcoming Parkway Pals season. This daylong celebration of laughter and learning will debut on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Center City’s commercial core is experiencing a sustained process of recovery, with new businesses opening and existing retailers moving to new, often larger locations, according to the just-released CCD/CPDC Center City Retail Update. In the first quarter of 2022, taxable retail sales in the core of Center City reached 94% of 2019 levels and restaurant sales reached 74% of 2019 levels.
