A Colorful Art Installation Debuts This Evening in Sister Cities Park

A new, temporary art display, Color Under the Canopy, debuts at Sister Cities Park following a two-day installation. The project was designed and executed by local artist Janell Wysock. Using a loom to knit fabric, she created colorful, eye-catching wraps to decorate some of the park’s most precious assets: its trees.

The winter installment of Center City District Restaurant Week (CCDRW) wrapped up this past Sunday, with over 90 local eateries participating in the bi-annual dining deal. Celebrations, however, are just beginning as the program looks forward to welcoming a landmark occasion this fall. In September of 2023, CCDRW will return to commemorate its 20th anniversary.

The Center City District seeks to commission local musicians, DJs and crafters to participate in various public programs at Dilworth Park and Sister Cities Park throughout 2020. Interested applicants 21 and older should complete the Open Call submission form. Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2020 at 3 p.m.

Center City District Expands Bicycle Patrol With New Evening Shift

With pedestrian volumes on Center City sidewalks last month reaching the highest point since March 2020, the CCD is expanding its existing clean and safe programs by launching an additional uniformed, unarmed bicycle safety patrol within the District during afternoon and evening hours. This new shift will focus on entertainment and dining areas from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to support significant increase in returning shoppers, visitors & workers.
