CCDF is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $325,000 grant from the William Penn Foundation to enable the first phase of activation for Pulse, a site-specific public art created for Dilworth Park by internationally recognized sculptor Janet Echelman.
CCD welcomes the arrival of autumn with a full lineup of free-to-attend programs starting in September at parks and public spaces across Center City, including Dilworth Park’s 10th anniversary, a hay maze and events for office workers.
Center City Philadelphia holds 43% of all jobs citywide with a workforce from every neighborhood in the city, with more than 100,000 being employed in the office district. This spring and summer, Center City District (CCD) will celebrate and support Center City in-office employees by hosting free, outdoor events on West Market and JFK Boulevard.
The Center City District is the location for almost 1,500 businesses from one-of-a-kind owner-proprietors and unique restaurants to regional and national chains. On three consecutive Saturdays, September 17, September 24 and October 1, CCD is promoting Shop Center City Saturdays, an annual campaign that highlights the unique shopping experiences offered throughout the district’s many retail corridors.
