On May 14, 2020, CPDC hosted a virtual membership meeting. CCD President Paul R. Levy drew from the recently released annual report to highlight: the strengths that can help us in recovery, the challenges left unresolved before this crisis, how CCD has continued all on-street operations through and the new initiatives CCD is undertaking to build confidence in the public environment.
On July 29, the Board of Directors of the Center City District Foundation held a private tour of the progress of the Rail Park for major and prospective project donors.
CCD celebrated the 10th anniversary of Dilworth Park’s transformation from a desolate concrete plaza into a welcoming, active, green public space that is now the most popular year-round amenity in the heart of Center City.
CCD has started construction on a new coffee kiosk at the southern end of Dilworth Park adjacent to 15th Street with the installation of foundations and plumbing lines. This follows approval by the city’s Historical Commissionand the Art Commission. The coffee kiosk will open in April.
CCD is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $2 million capital redevelopment grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the second phase of the Rail Park, extending from Vine Street to Fairmount Avenue.
The Center City District Foundation (CCDF) is pleased to welcome 100 volunteers from Timberland to the Rail Park, where they will be working on a daylong service project this Friday, October 13, significantly advancing the park’s construction.
