Mission Taqueria

In August 2016, Sam Mink of Oyster House transformed the second floor of his Rittenhouse restaurant into a lively Mexican cantina in the middle of Center City. Once the home of Nodding House Brewery, the revamped space features large bay windows, whitewashed walls, glowing neon accents and a lush glass-enclosed open-air courtyard with lime green flooring. In the open kitchen complete with a roaring wood-fired grill, executive chef Andrew Sabin and his culinary team prepare ceviches, salads, snacks and tacos with fresh, made-to-order tortillas. Restaurant critic Craig LaBan said, “the tortillas made from Olotillo corn make a huge difference with every dish they accompany.” The mahi-mahi tacos with “thick-cut bars of fish crisped inside a delicate rice flour batter” are his “new favorites in town.” Enjoy the mahi-mahi tacos and classic yet innovative taqueria fare at one of Mission Taqueria's beer hall style communal dining tables or traditional tables and banquettes. The 14-seat mosaic backed concrete bar serves an extensive drink menu featuring inventive margaritas, an 8-tap draft system of Mexican lagers, craft locals, sparkling wines and cocktails including the Nasty Woman and Bad Hombre.

Mission Taqueria is open seven days a week for lunch, mid-day, dinner and Saturday and Sunday brunch. Stop by the bright and airy Mexican cantina for fresh tacos and friendly competition at one of Mission Taqueria's custom made foosball and shuffleboard tables.
