Gran Caffe L’Aquila

Located on Center City’s Chestnut Street shopping corridor, Gran Caffe L’Aquila is the authority on all things Italian. The all-day café opens daily at 7 am for coffee and pastries and continues through the evening for dinner and dessert. Two of the chef-owners are regarded as Italy’s best: Stefano Biasini took top honors in the 2014 World Cup of Gelato and Michele Morelli, the café’s full-time coffee roaster was awarded the highest rating for torrefaction from Gambero Rosso- Italy’s version of Zagat. Biasini’s gelato counter features 24 flavors, all made in-house with alcohol infused varieties and a savory assortment that accompanies café specialties.

For wine and light bites, the first floor features an Italian style bar. Upstairs you’ll find Gran Caffe L’Aquila’s full-sit down restaurant and wine bar pouring 20 different varieties – one from each region of Italy – by the glass. The décor was constructed in Italy and transported and assembled in Philadelphia for an experience exclusive to Gran Caffe L’Aquila- a must-visit for lovers of everything Italian.
