Federal Donuts

Since Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook opened the first Federal Donuts in 2011, the casual donut and fried chicken eatery has become a staple in Philadelphia’s food scene. After opening the first location in Pennsport South Philadelphia, Solomonov and Cook added a second location in Center City just one year later. Fans near and far come for affordable deep-fried chicken and donuts in bold flavors. Donut varieties include Fancy (glazed and decorated each morning) and Hot Fresh (fried to order and tossed in flavored sugars such as Strawberry Lavender and Cinnamon Brown Sugar). Crispy Korean-style fried chicken starts an hour before noon and comes double fried and coated in your choice of dry seasoning, glaze or naked. Every fried chicken order includes a honey donut- a unique twist on the classic chicken and biscuit combination.

Federal Donuts is one in a family of critically acclaimed CooknSolo owned eateries in Center City including Dizengoff, Goldie, The Rooster, Abe Fisher and Zahav- Philadelphia’s pioneering modern Israeli restaurant. Come to Federal Donuts for “world-class” cake donuts according to New York Times restaurant critic Pete Wells.
