Get in the Holiday Spirit with Rothman Orthopaedics at Dilworth Park

As described by Lucky Dog Studio co-founder and creative director Donielle R. Powell, "'North Sky' is designed to showcase the beauty and magic of winter in the city. Inspired by the shifting hues of the aurora borealis, this installation uses color and light manipulation to emulate how rays refract through ice, creating a kaleidoscope effect as day transitions into twilight. The installation consists of over 2,500 reflective pieces, which have been systematically hand-assembled onto 52 cables that stretch over 3,000 feet. The lighting experience features 30 DMX controlled fixtures equipped with high-power LEDs, each individually programmed to blend and create a moving, liquid-like effect."

The rink also brings a vibrancy to Center City and is a chance for visitors, residents and office workers to have some holiday fun right outside of historic City Hall.

Warm Up in the Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin

After finishing your skating session, take some time to relax and warm up at the Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin. Here, you can enjoy hearty seasonal dishes that are perfect for recharging between skating adventures and shopping trips. For adults 21 and older, there are cocktails made with Jim Beam Black® and Hornitos® Tequila to toast to good times. You can also find popular beers like Broad Street Bully and Independence Lager by Broad Street Brewing on the menu. Don't forget to head outside to the terrace, where you can enjoy cozy fire pits free of charge. Alcohol is served starting at 5 p.m. on weekdays and at 11 a.m. on weekends for adults 21 and over.

The Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin hosts a weekly happy hour called "Cocktails and Cold Ones" every Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Unwind after a long workday with our delicious Jim Beam Black® cocktails for just $7, refreshing wine for $6, and select Broad Street Brewing brands for $5. Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle with a visit to the Wintergarden on the Greenfield Lawn! This charming outdoor sanctuary offers a picturesque and whimsical setting where adults aged 21 and older can raise a glass of warm mulled wine at the Chaddsford Winery kiosk located on-site. Enjoy highlights like rustic décor, playful reindeer topiaries, and twinkling lights. The Wintergarden is open to both children and adults to explore at no cost throughout the entire season.
