CCD is pleased to introduce safe summer programming, starting with PNC presents Live @ Lunch at Dilworth Park. Beginning July 8, local musicians will perform lunchtime concerts for parkgoers every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon through August 27.
Upon the arrival of warmer weather each year, CCD gets to work transforming Dilworth Park from a winter wonderland to a warm-weather oasis enjoyed by thousands of residents, city workers, families, and tourists.
The Center City District seeks to commission local musicians, DJs and crafters to participate in various public programs at Dilworth Park and Sister Cities Park throughout 2020. Interested applicants 21 and older should complete the Open Call submission form. Applications will be accepted until January 31, 2020 at 3 p.m.
CCD and Optimal Sport have also teamed up to host a virtual version of our Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics for participants of all skill levels.
Since the Center City District (CCD) began gathering data in 2001 on downtown establishments that provided outdoor seating, the number of seats has steadily increased. That trend has continued in 2019, with locations throughout Center City providing a record number of 6,969 seats, a 5% increase from 6,631 in 2018.
Successful street closure pilot program results show pronounced economic impact and increased foot traffic, suggest opportunity for future iterations.
CCD is celebrating workers who are back in the office — and encouraging others to join them — with a series of morning and afternoon events.
