WHAT: Along with the just-released print publication Center City Developments: 2019, Center City District (CCD) has launched a new interactive on-line map, featuring all of the information found within the publication, sorted by project type: commercial, residential, hospitality, etc. As existing development projects are completed or modified and new ones are announced, the map will be updated throughout the year.

WHERE: The map and a link to download the report can be found at https://www.centercityphila.org/research-reports/developmentsmap

MORE: The full report and the interactive map feature data on 16.1 million square feet of current and upcoming projects in Center City, categorized by type and featuring images and project descriptions of all 62 major developments.

The online component has been created in part to serve as a resource for developers, journalists, researchers and others seeking the latest facts and figures on Center City’s development landscape. Developers can send updates and additions to this database by emailing developments@centercityphila.org.

BACKGROUND: Building upon a decade-long, sustained national economic expansion, 23 development projects totaling $2.8 billion were completed in Center City between Fairmount and Washington avenues, river to river, in the period from January 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019. Eighteen projects totaling $3 billion in new investment were under construction as of September 1, 2019. Another 21 projects with a total estimated development value of $1 billion are in the planning or proposal phase.
