Employee Spotlight: Curts Charles, Director of Billing and Collections Services

What is your role, and what does a day in your work life at CCD look like?

I am the Director of Billing and Collections Services. I am responsible for coordinating, preparing, and sending out annual billing to property owners and following up with various collections procedures, as well as being responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the properties database and acting as the professional interface with property owners to address questions and concerns.

What is your favorite thing about working at Center City District?

My favorite thing about working at CCD is how impactful we are to the downtown area of Philadelphia. I really enjoy all the things we do here, and I can see that same passion throughout the company.

What work are you most proud of in your role at CCD?

My role here is far from glamorous, as it deals mostly with numbers and from time-to-time concerned property owners, but I am most proud of helping solve the issues of those same property owners. I am also proud of all the happy faces that walk down the street, work in the office spaces and live in the residential buildings.

If you were planning a day out in Center City, what would be on the agenda?

Depending on the weather I prefer to be outside, so I like to check out events at Dilworth Park or enjoy a walk during Open Streets. I also like to play cornhole and have a drink at one of the beer gardens. In the evening, I enjoy going to dinner and then watching a musical or comedy show to end the night.

What is something interesting about you outside of your CCD work that you would like to share about yourself?

I enjoy playing volleyball competitively and coaching volleyball for the Special Olympics.
