Center City Developments - 2019 Trends, Expectations for 2020

On September 24, 2019, Central Philadelphia Development Corporation released the annual Real Estate Developments Report, highlighting 62 major projects in Center City with an estimated development value of $6.8 billion.  A panel of developers discussed their three projects – one office, one retail/entertainment and one residential – and what these projects tell us about current industry trends, the strength of the Center City market and how best to sustain local development momentum.

Paul R. Levy, Executive Director of the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation, set the context for the discussion by highlighting the economic impact development projects have on the downtown and he reviewed details from the Developments report, including the map and full-color photos and renderings and project descriptions of all 62 major developments in Center City Philadelphia, categorized by type. He also introduced the new Interactive Developments Map which includes a sortable map that features all of the information found within the publication and which will be continually updated as Center City development projects are announced, modified and completed.
