On December 14, 2021 CPDC hosted an in-person meeting about accelerating the safe return to office. Paul R. Levy presented the latest economic recovery data and stressed the importance of businesses bringing their staff back to the office and how the delay is impacting jobs, school funding and safety in Center City. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw addressed the group about the importance of maintaining a safe city. Then Deputy Police Commissioner Joel Dales spoke about the enhanced police coverage in the downtown, the importance of public-private partnerships and recommendations for what businesses could do to help. Jody Holton, Assistant General Manager of Planning and Strategic Initiatives at SEPTA, discussed what they are doing to ensure a clean and safe experience for riders, to increase the frequency of service, as well as the investments they are making to modernize their fleet and create a more cohesive identity for their entire system.
