FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Philadelphia, PA (December 9, 2021) To extend the holiday shopping and entertainment into the New Year, Center City District (CCD) is sponsoring Restaurant Week, beginning Sunday, January 9 and continuing through Friday, January 21, 2022. Dozens of local restaurants will participate in this biannual prix-fixe dining promotion that highlights some of the city’s most diverse culinary venues.
More than 60 participants will offer three-course dinners for $40 per person, in addition to $25 lunches at select locations. Guests have the option to dine indoors with proof of vaccination against COVID-19, outdoors or at home by ordering takeout. Tax, gratuity, and beverages are not included. Menu and reservation information for participating restaurants can be found at ccdrestaurantweek.com.
Perfect cocktail pairings, made with Knob Creek® Rye Whiskey and Suntory Haku® Vodka, are available to adults 21 and older for an additional cost. All patrons have the opportunity to win dinner for a year by entering at ccdrestaurantweek.com.
Discounted parking will be offered to Restaurant Week diners for $9 or less at participating Interpark, LAZ, PPA, Patriot and BexPark by Brandywine Realty Trust garages. Guests are encouraged to plan their transportation arrangements when making dinner reservations, or plan to access a digital parking voucher at ccdrestaurantweek.com. Restaurants no longer provide tear-off parking vouchers on check inserts.
CCD also continues to recommend that patrons tip their servers generously. Although job recovery is well underway, leisure, hospitality and restaurants still have a long way to go to restore the number of jobs they provided in 2019. Supporting restaurants across the city helps accelerate recovery throughout Philadelphia.
Pedestrian volumes are steadily rebounding and are now at 75% of January 2020 levels. Theaters and museums have returned, and more than 500 retailers within the District are eager to serve patrons. Office workers, tourists and residents are encouraged to explore all that Center City has to offer.
As a reminder, in accord with City of Philadelphia’s current health guidelines, everyone who wishes to dine indoors must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 beginning on January 3, 2022. Visit phila.gov to learn more.
“Restaurant Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the many flavors of Philadelphia. From Italian, French and Asian to Indian, Cuban and Mexican, this unique promotion gives diners a chance to try something new or indulge in something familiar,” said Michelle Shannon, Vice President of Marketing for Center City District. “Downtown recovery depends on the success of all businesses, including our beloved local restaurants. This holiday season, gift cards are the perfect present for foodies of all ages, and with Restaurant Week beginning in early January, they will be much appreciated. As always, we encourage guests to support our servers by tipping them generously.”
