Center City District offers ice skating, outdoor dining and cold weather fun through February 2022! Beginning this November, visitors of all ages can enjoy a dramatic seasonal transformation as fountains are replaced by the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and reindeer topiaries take up winter residence on the Greenfield Lawn. In addition, a full lineup of free entertainment is planned, including the Deck the Hall Light Show, the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market and Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin.
The Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink opens for the season at Dilworth Park on Friday, April 22 through Sunday, July 17. The colorful, retro-inspired rink will bring old-school cool to the space outside of historic City Hall with hour-long sessions available seven days a week.

Old-school cool returns to Dilworth Park this spring with the opening of the Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink! Beginning Friday, April 21 through Sunday, July 16, hour-long skate sessions will be available seven days a week. The winter installment of Center City District Restaurant Week (CCDRW) wrapped up this past Sunday, with over 90 local eateries participating in the bi-annual dining deal. Celebrations, however, are just beginning as the program looks forward to welcoming a landmark occasion this fall. In September of 2023, CCDRW will return to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
All of Dilworth Park’s popular winter attractions are returning in November. The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink will again offer skating seven days per week, the Greenfield Lawn will host reindeer topiaries in the Wintergarden and the west facade of historic City Hall will once again be illuminated by the Deck the Hall Light Show presented by Independence Blue Cross with support from 6abc. The Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market will round out the park’s seasonal transformation.
Project HOME and the CCD unveiled a new information campaign that is being deployed on transit shelters and counter cards in Center City, highlighting five Philadelphians previously living on the streets who chose a path out of homelessness and now seek to inspire others to do the same.
CCD has once again partnered with 6ABC to bring City Hall to life with the sights and sounds of the holiday season. This will be the second year for the Deck the Hall Light Show, presented by Independence Blue Cross.
This spring and summer, Sister Cities Park at 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway will be offering a variety of exciting events, from BYOB summer barbeques with live music in the evenings to children’s art, science and nature programs.
