Philadelphia’s robust network of arts & culture organizations will be celebrated every week as they perform in the center of the city. Supported by PNC Bank, the shows will range from orchestral serenades and ballet ensembles to jazz instrumentals and beyond. Attendance is free for all, but seating in the Greenfield Lawn is limited. Bring-your-own blanket or chair encouraged.
Tonight's performer, Philadanco! D/2, is an apprentice company of aspiring young dancers. They feature a diverse fusion of ballet, modern and hip hop. The program is lush with flashes of Jazz, African and Contemporary dance forms, and features choreography by former and present members of D/2 as well as works by former members of the 1st company, The Philadelphia Dance Company. It is the dancers passion, commitment, and drive to express themselves that brings excitement and inspiration to each work chosen for the evening’s program.
