Philadelphia’s robust network of arts & culture organizations, large and small, will be celebrated every week as they perform in the center of the city. Shows will range from orchestral serenades and ballet ensembles to jazz instrumentals and beyond. In support of local restaurants, guests are encouraged to dine al fresco with takeout meals from nearby eateries. A special menu will be offered at the Air Grille, and cocktails made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer will be available for purchase to guests 21 and older to enjoy within designated areas in the park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs, as seating is limited.

WMGK Radio Host, and producer of the 1980's local music program on WMMR, Street Beat, Cyndy Drue will host an evening featuring David Uosikkinen, drummer for the Hooters and In The Pocket - The Essential Songs of Philadelphia. Special guests will present a history of music venues and local bands to shine the light on Philly's vibrant music scene and the importance of independent music venues. Jade Starling and Whey Cooler from Pretty Poison, Kerri Park, General Manager of World Café Live (PIVOT), and Ron Dangler, the new co-owner of Dobbs on South (formerly the historic JC Dobbs) will offer their perspectives on the past, current, and future of the Philly Music Scene. In 1985, power-pop-rock band, Smash Palace released their debut album. Today they continue to produce well-crafted records and will perform an "unplugged" set to promote their new release “21.”  The performance will begin at 5:30 p.m.

This event is presented by the Philadelphia Music Alliance and sponsored by the Philadelphia Music Heritage Council.
