Philadelphia’s robust network of arts & culture organizations, large and small, will be celebrated every week as they perform in the center of the city. Shows will range from orchestral serenades and ballet ensembles to jazz instrumentals and beyond. In support of local restaurants, guests are encouraged to dine al fresco with takeout meals from nearby eateries. A special menu will be offered at the Air Grille, and cocktails made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer will be available for purchase to guests 21 and older to enjoy within designated areas in the park. 

This evening of jazz music, hosted by Lovett Hines, Artistic Director/Founder of the Music Education Program of the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz & Performing Arts will feature a history of The Clef Club placing the spotlight on alumni and the Philly jazz scene. Executive Director Suzanne Cloud, Jack McCarthy, music archivist and historian, and Noah-Harmony Harley, Executive Director of the Rufus Harley Foundation will join the presentation. A special John Coltrane Memorial Concert by alto saxophonist, Bobby Zankel, and special guests will pay tribute to the music of John Coltrane who passed on July 17, 1967.

The performance will begin at 5:30 p.m. 

This event is presented by the Philadelphia Music Alliance and sponsored by the Philadelphia Music Heritage Council.
