Philadelphia’s robust network of arts & culture organizations will be celebrated every week as they perform in the center of the city. Supported by PNC Bank, the shows will range from orchestral serenades and ballet ensembles to jazz instrumentals and beyond. Attendance is free for all, but seating in the Greenfield Lawn is limited. Bring-your-own blanket or chair encouraged.
Tonight's performer, the Philadelphia Ballet, will present Behind the Stage Door, a piece that explores the "invisible" forces that bring ballet to life. Through a soundscape of diverse voices, original musical composition, dance and stage design, the piece illuminates the many personalities, stories, and experiences that underlie and make possible the transcendent art form that is the ballet. Performed by Artists of Philadelphia Ballet II, who serve as the Ballet's community ambassadors.
