Santa Claus is Comin' to Town on SEPTA!
All aboard! The SEPTA Santa Express returns for its 28th year to kick-off the holiday season in Center City Philadelphia! Join SEPTA and Center City District for fun-filled holiday train rides and a festive parade as we welcome Santa Claus to the Rothman Orthopaedics Rink at Dilworth Park located at City Hall. Stay and skate with Santa and shop for gifts at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market. Visit ISEPTAPHILLY.COM for train times and stations.
The fun begins at Dilworth Park on Friday, November 23 at 10:30 a.m. SEPTA’s trains and stations will be specially decorated for the occasion and helpers will be there to hand out holiday gift bags [look for a special 2018 SEPTA Santa Express pin] and to guide revelers to the fun! This year's generous donors have helped make this gift bag extra special. Find goodies including Herr's chips, Keller's Creamery fresh-baked cookies, Phlash Candy Canes, stationary from the Philadelphia Eagles, festive holiday gear from Center City District, coupons to various Philadelphia spots, including a free pass for kids to skate at the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink, and more!
Riders will arrive in Dilworth Park in time for a festive parade that will welcome Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves to the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink. Already in Philly? Santa and his elves are due to arrive at Dilworth Park around 10:45am. Besides the trains, other ways to get here on SEPTA include Trolley Routes 10, 11, 13, 34 & 36 [to 15th Street] and Bus Routes 2, 17, 33, 38, 44, 48, 124 or 125. All are invited to stay and skate with Santa Claus. You may even get the chance to tell him your Christmas wishlist. That is, if you can catch him!
Santa will stick around Dilworth Park until noon! Stay for games and prizes from More FM, performances from the Walnut Street Theatre, a hot chocolate station, and the Keller's Creamery Cookie Decorating Station (located in the warm and festive Rothman Orthopaedics Cabin)!
Attendees will also have the chance to explore the Wintergarden at Dilworth Park. This holiday-inspired garden is located on the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn. Children and adults will delight in discovering picture-perfect moments amid holiday topiaries, twinkling lights, and seasonal plants. The beautiful garden is sure be a great spot for holiday card photos!
