The Prince Theater is a multi-use performance venue for live arts and major film events. The theater is also home to Philadelphia’s largest movie screen- equipped to project both classic 35mm and 2k digital film with Dolby digital surround sound. The 33,000-square foot building was acquired by the Philadelphia Film Society in 2015. The purchase supported the preservation of one of Philadelphia’s most distinguished historic buildings that dates back to 1880. The structure was renovated in 1999 as a multi-use theater for film, live performances, dance and cabaret. Today, the Prince houses a 446-seat theater with a proscenium stage, orchestra pit, and full flyloft, along with one flexible space with seating for up to 150 for films, receptions, discussions, performances and more.
