CCD's Michelle Shannon Appointed Regional Co-Chair
for International Council of Shopping Centers
(April 4, 2012) – The Center City District (CCD) is pleased to announce today that the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has appointed Michelle Shannon, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the CCD, as Pennsylvania/Delaware/Southern New Jersey Alliance Public Sector Co-Chair for ICSC for a one-year term beginning May 20. In this volunteer role, Ms. Shannon will represent the interests of owners, developers, investors, marketers and other retail specialists across the region.
"The Center City District is honored to have Michelle serve as a regional Co-Chair for ICSC," said Paul R. Levy, President and CEO of the CCD. "For more than 15 years, the CCD has benefitted from her exceptional leadership, and in the last three years she has dramatically expanded her role spearheading a joint effort with the City and the regional tourism marketing corporation to attract new retailers to Philadelphia, at the same time as she planned and launched a new fashion incubator to help new firms gets started here in Center City."

"Her enthusiasm and willingness to contribute to the success of ICSC and the retail real estate industry will be of great benefit to our growing membership in the Philadelphia area."
Before joining the Center City District in 1997, Ms. Shannon worked for the Rouse Company of Columbia, Maryland, for 13 years in shopping-center marketing. She became a Certified Marketing Director (CMD) in 1988 and a Senior Certified Marketing Director in 2003. She is Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Retail Marketing Alliance, a board member of the Philadelphia Fashion Incubator, member of Fashion Group International and the Philadelphia Public Relations Association.
In addition to her marketing activities on the job, Michelle has served on the Board of Directors and marketing committee for the historic Reading Terminal Market and Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Philadelphia.
A graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia with a B.A. in Journalism, Ms. Shannon also attended Moore College of Art & Design.
