Blue Jeans Go Green™ Denim Recycling
Recycle those old jeans you have laying around! All denim collected through the Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program is recycled into UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation, and a portion of it, up to 250,000 square feet, is distributed to Habitat for Humanity affiliates and civic buildings around the country. The environmentally-friendly insulation consists almost entirely of natural denim and cotton fibers that are 100% recyclable, reducing landfill waste. By weight, it maintains an 80% post-consumer recycled content. Local boutiques have partnered with the program. You can bring an old pair of jeans to South Moon Under (1731 Chestnut Street) during their annual denim event. All denim will be 20% off through October 25. Donate your old jeans to Madewell (1716 Walnut) and receive $20 off your purchase of any full-priced jeans through December 31.
