Stand Up for Transportation
A broad group of stakeholders will gather for a "Stand Up for Transportation" rally on April 9 at Dilworth Park. This event is being held in conjunction with National Transportation Infrastructure Day. It’s one of many events being planned across the country to highlight the economic impact of America's multi-modal transportation network and urge critical investment in our nation’s infrastructure. Former Governor Ed Rendell, who co-chairs Building America’s Future, will kick off the rally at 9am. U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster and PennDOT Acting Secretary Leslie Richards will also address the crowd. Other regional leaders and lawmakers will also participate.

PAFA + muraLAB
In celebration of the recent partnership between the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) and Mural Arts, PAFA's Art in Process will be hosting a muraLAB mural painting! From 6-8pm on April 8, come and assist Mural Arts with work on pieces for their next big project! The Mural Arts Tour Office, now located in the Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building, will be kicking off their official 2015 tour season on April 11. Stop by the celebration to get a sneak peak of their upcoming tour lineup or register for their Scavenger Hunt event.

UArts Art Unleashed
The University of the Arts will hold its 6th annual Art Unleashed fundraising event April 10-14, noon-5pm. The event showcases the work of emerging and established artists in iconic Hamilton Hall on South Broad Street’s Avenue of the Arts. The show features the original work of students, faculty, alumni and staff with an exhibition and sale. Pieces include an impressive range of contemporary jewelry, ceramics, photography, crafts, furniture, painting, sculpture and illustration. Art Unleashed is an extraordinary opportunity for the public to acquire stunning, original pieces of art from across genres. Proceeds support student scholarships.

Red Carpet Premiere of Sons of Ben: The Movie
On April 8, tickets go on sale for another kind of Philadelphia story – Sons of Ben: The Movie. The film follows Philadelphia’s most passionate soccer fans, the Sons of Ben, who stopped at nothing in their goal to help bring a Major League Soccer franchise to the City of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia premiere will be held June 10 at the Ritz Five Theater (214 Walnut Street). Guests are invited to the red carpet premiere and screening of the film.
